Shadow and Bone trilogy is an adventure project by the book Leigh Bardugo. Furthermore, it is the first book in the Grisha trilogy for which Netflix has bought the rights. The story follows Alina Starkov, an orphan who grows up in Ravka land. Her whole life starts to change when she uses a power she didn’t even know she had. The series stars Jessie Mei Li, Amita Suman, Freddy Carter, Archie Renaux. As well as Ben Barnes, Julian Kostov, Howard Charles, Simon Sears, and many others.

Shadow and Bone is the first novel, and the inspiration came from the monsters and darkness we’ve always heard about. Furthermore, Leigh wanted to point out that there may be things more horrible than anything we could imagined. In conclusion, all this led to the idea of Shadow Fold. However, she sought inspiration for the place of action in old Russia. In other words, to portray a slightly different environment than the one we saw before.

Shadow bones the story

In a world destroyed by numerous wars, one heroine rises. In other words, an orphan and then a heroine could be the key to solving the problem. Furthermore, she could be of great importance for the liberation of the country. Due to the growing threat of Shadow Fold, Alina becomes part of Grisha’s elite army. However as he struggles to perfect his power, she learns that nothing is as it seems. Not only criminals are dangerous, so it will take more than magic to survive.

Shadow and Bone trilogy – review

Even though the series is appealing when it comes to stories, the most attractive is the way it is shot. In other words, you are not watching this series but you are there. Viewers feel as if they are in a fictional world. Furthermore, that world is so big that you have to wonder how much imagination the creator had.

On the one hand, there is an adaptation of tense scenes, and on the other hand a lot of creativity and individuality. Even though the theme is similar to other stories, this is something new. After a long time, the greatest emphasis is not on the effects. On the contrary, the characters are diluted to the smallest detail, as is the story. Shadow and Bone trilogy is simply perfect!
