World largest cave is one of the natural phenomena that delights many. The discovery was in the early ’90s. Furthermore a local villager Ho Khanh accidentally stumbled upon the entrance to the cave. It was immediately clear to him that he discovered something really special. In other words, it was no ordinary cave. The official discovery was in 2009.

When the local peasant came to the entrance he immediately saw how big the passage was. However, what surprised him most was the River flowing from the entrance. But only after 25 years did international recognition follow. The British team asked Ho Khanh for help. Surely even then they could not be aware of what they will see once they enter the cave.

Son Doong – World largest cave

Son Doong is one of the world’s largest natural caves. It is located in Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park near the Laos-Vietnam border. Inside the cave are a flowing underground river and the largest cross-section. Furthermore by volume has the largest cave passage in the world. In other words, the whole area is so big that it can even fit a skyscraper. It dates back from between 2 and 5 million years.

In 2009 a group of speleologists set out to explore this area. However, their progress prevented a large wall of 60 m. But in 2010 the group reached the end of the passage. It is this passage that is most interesting in the whole story. It is more than 5 km / 3.1mi long, 200 m / 660ft high, and 150 m / 490ft wide. Furthermore, Cave is about 9 km / 5.6m long.

The valleys allow sunlight to enter, resulting in the growth of rich vegetation. In other words as the world within the world. Inside the cave are some of the highest stalagmites up to 70 m high. It is not clear how something like this was in the dark. In other words, it is proof that nature will never stop with surprises. There are certainly many more locations in the world yet to be discovered.

Tourist tours

2013 was the year of the first tourist tour. However, you need special permission to enter. The number of visitors is limited, all to preserve the natural heritage. The local peasant from the beginning of the story works as a guide and conservator.
