Meghan Markle is not a member of the royal family anymore but that doesn’t make her any less popular. When Meghan and Harry stepped from their duty in the royal family, they caused a huge storm of media.
Now, they are still in the waking eye of the media. They are in the constant attention of the public so everyone is following their every move. As that isn’t enough, Meghan revealed she suffered a miscarriage.
Meghan Markle revealed the details in the essay
After having their first child, the couple tried to have another. Archie was at that point 18 months old and she was carrying him when she suddenly felt a sharp pain. The pain was so severe that she dropped to the floor, holding Archie in her arms.
She wrote, “I knew, as I was holding on to my firstborn child that I was losing my second”. Meghan also told that this is the subject that happens so often but nobody speaks about it. She went on to describe how she felt at that moment.
Just hours later, she was laying on the hospital bed and holding her husband’s hand. Markle went on to describe how she felt the clamminess of her husband’s palm as she was holding his hand and kissed his knuckles. Their hands and faces were wet from tears as they were staring in the white walls around them.
Markle wrote ‘I tried to imagine how would we heal’ and she spoke about the unbearable grief. She said that then, they found out that in a room of 100 women, 10 or 20 of them will suffer a miscarriage.
Despite the fact that this is such a common incident, nobody speaks about the severe pain and emotional burden that comes with it. Markle added that conversations about this are riddled with shame and it’s a huge taboo in society.
It just leads women to solitary mourning. She wants to encourage people to get together and support each other in moments like this.
