You’ve probably seen the Silhouette Challenge on TikTok. After mentioning the name, you could probably already hear the music and remember the distinctive red filter. This trend was supposed to be empowering and help people to accept themselves and be more confident. However, the popular trend quickly took another turn.

What happened with the Silhouette Challenge?

So many people have done the Silhouette Challenge and all of them were either completely naked or just in their underwear. As the red filter comes on, just the silhouette was visible and their privacy was safe. Is it still? No.

Not long after that, many videos started to circle around – as there is a way to remove the red filer and expose what’s underneath. All you need to do is download the video and adjust it. By increasing brightness, lowering contrast, lowering warmth and tint, then lowering saturation, you can expose the person behind.

However, despite this sounds kind of scary, it actually doesn’t do much. It just changes the colour of the video from red to black and white. Only in cases where people were in front of direct light and a lot was already visible in red filter, this can expose them a bit more.

As there isn’t enough nudity in the world, some people had to come up with a new way to undress others. So if you are one of the ones who did this challenge on TikTok, you don’t have to worry much about it. It’s not that these ‘hackers’ are able to expose your nude body as you are standing in the bright sun. It’s just another colour of your shadow.

Don’t let anyone scare you with this, the rumours are just rumours. So far, this trick doesn’t work and despite how someone tries to convince you in something opposite.
